B.O.S.S. The Most Powerful Tool in a Leaders Toolbox

Purpose or Case Report: Understand how collaboration and innovation merged to reduce non valued leader time to improve effectiveness.
Recognize the importance of how leveraging existing resources and infrastructure come together to reduce costs
Through collaboration and innovation B.O.S.S. will reduce non value added time, improve effectiveness and reduce costs while creating more successful leaders.
Methods & Materials: Support, sustain, and retain an engaged workforce by empowering leaders to effectively and consistently use required systems to enhance operational efficiency
Create a centralized and sustainable program that is integrated with living systems
Results: After implementation of a centralized online systems dashboard, production was increased improving the cycle of efficiency for a leader. A focused interview with 45 leaders yielded proven results and a significant decrease in non-value added time spent searching for resources to complete daily tasks. Pre-Implementation of BOSS: Average of 32 minutes searching 16 systems finding information in relation to one task. Post-Implementation of BOSS: Average of 2 minutes searching 16 systems finding information in relation to one task. An estimated annual cost savings for leaders across the organization is greater than $180,000 of non value added time
Conclusions: By taking a simple idea and changing a culture of complacency. Collaboraton with a cross-section of leaders helped create B.O.S.S. brand awareness. Standardization of business operation systems, along with centrally locating access for ease of use helped our idea succeed, grow, and sustain.
