Impact of Pediatric Radiology Didactics on Post-test Scores of Clinical Pediatric Residents: A Quality Assessment on Pediatric Radiology Education of Trainees

Purpose or Case Report: The subspecialty of Pediatric Radiology is crucial for providing accurate diagnoses and guiding treatment for pediatric patients. This study evaluates the impact of a four-lecture series on Pediatric Radiology on the knowledge of clinical pediatric residents. It focuses on the American
College of Radiology Appropriateness Criteria (ACR-AC) and the ability to select suitable imaging modalities.
Methods & Materials: Using a quasi-experimental design, pre- and post-tests were administered to assess knowledge improvement among residents before and after each lecture. The lectures covered essential topics such as chest and abdominal imaging, integrating scenarios relevant to
clinical practice.
Results: Results demonstrated a statistically significant improvement in the residents understanding and application of ACR-AC in clinical decision-making.
Conclusions: These findings suggest that targeted didactics can enhance pediatric residents proficiency in Pediatric Radiology, ultimately contributing to better patient care.
