Showing 1 Abstract.

Orbital abnormalities in children are uncommon and encompass a wide variety of congenital and acquired etiologies. While dermoid/epidermoid cysts, infantile hemangiomas, and rhabdomyosarcomas represent the more common neoplastic processes, there are other orbital neoplasms, syndromic abnormalities, and infectious processes to consider. The objectives of this poster include 1) a brief review of the normal development and anatomy of the orbit and 2) a case-based review of rare orbital pathologies ranging from orbital manifestations of syndromic processes to unusual malignancy presentation and orbital infection. Case examples will include but are not limited to retinal hamartomas in tuberos sclerosis, anterior chamber retinoblastoma, and zoonotic ocular onchocercosis. Read More
