MRI is the gold standard for the diagnosis of acute septic sacroiliitis. However, appropriate timing of the procedure has not been addressed in the literature. MRI is highly sensitive for detecting long tubular bone osteomyelitis as early as 24-48 hours of symptom onset. The hypothesis of this study is that the onset of bone marrow edema of acute hematogenous osteomyelitis (AHO) of pelvis might be delayed as compared with long bone. Enzyme replacement therapy (ERT) is approved for the treatment of mucopolysaccharidoses (MPS) I: Hurler syndrome (IH), Hurler-Scheie syndrome (IHS) and Scheie syndrome (IS), II: Hunter syndrome, and VI: Maroteaux-Lamy syndrome. However, ERT is thought to have no therapeutic effect on the central nervous system (CNS) because the enzyme could not permeate through the blood-brain barrier (BBB). To assess the level of the conus medullaris using spinal ultrasonography, bony landmarks such as the lowest ribs, the most caudal ossification center (MCOC) of the vertebral body, and angulation in the lumbosacral region are used. However, determining the level of the conus medullaris is sometimes difficult because of the variations of these landmarks. Purpose of this study was to analyze the variation of these landmarks. However, it is difficult to evaluate these variations using ultrasonography, because this method allows a narrow field of view. Esophageal atresia (EA) is a relatively rare congenital anomaly. Esophageal pouch (EP) is the only direct sign of EA on fetal MRI, but is not always seen. Distended hypopharynx (DHP) has been reported as a useful prenatal sign of EA, but as EP and DHP are both subjective assessments, the prenatal diagnosis of EA is challenging. Congenital high airway obstruction syndrome (CHAOS) is a rare life-threatening disease and prenatal diagnosis is essential. Some characteristic features seen on fetal MRI are well-known: primary lesion (upper airway obstruction) and secondary changes (dilated trachea, flattened/inverted diaphragm, enlarged and hyperintense lung). It is also reported that these secondary changes may be reduced if tracheoesophageal fistula (TEF) is present. Congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH) is the result of incomplete closure of the normal pleuroperitoneal canal. CDH is usually detected prenatally or present in the newborn period with severe respiratory distress. In contrast, delayed presentation of CDH (D-CDH), defined as CDH diagnosed at later than 30 days of age, is known as rare subset of CDH. The outcome of patients with D-CDH is generally favorable, but misdiagnosis can result in morbidity and mortality.
